Learn As You Teach are activities and projects suitable for key stage 1 and 2 delivery which enable teachers to explore computing topics as tasks to complete in class with their pupils.
Teachers do not need to be experts as the activities and projects build upon the Computing Concepts presentations and associated Introducing Programming Tools workshops to support learning and skills development during the school year.
Provided discrete units to fit into your programme of study:
|Individual activity or project package to be delivered over a 6 week period|
|Each package is intended to support up to 2 hours teaching per week|
|Packages can be delivered as a series of 5 or 6 half termly computing tasks|
Each activity or project package includes:
|An explanation of the task (for teachers to expand and integrate into their schemes of work)|
|Learning objectives (linking to the Computing Programme of Study)|
|Details of technical preparation required|
|Steps to complete the activity or project|
|Additional tasks + activities (to keep your stars busy!)|
|Common technical problems and how to identify and resolve them quickly|
|Anticipated teaching and learning difficulties and suggested alternative approaches|
Scope of Packages
Key Stage 1 and 2 activity or project packages are produced on demand. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks depending on tool / environment / toy selection.
